- Other Campaign-related information
By opting in, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from Citizens for John O’Connor at the mobile number you provide.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies.
The number and frequency of messages may increase during active Campaign periods, including periods immediately before elections, Campaign events, or important deadlines.
Message & Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Your wireless carrier’s standard text messaging and data charges may apply to messages sent or received through this program.
Citizens for John O’Connor is not responsible for charges imposed by your wireless carrier.
Opt-In
You may opt in to Citizens for John O’Connor Campaign Alerts by submitting your mobile number through an authorized Campaign form or by another affirmative opt-in method provided by the Campaign.
By opting in, you authorize Citizens for John O’Connor and its service providers to send recurring Campaign-related SMS/text messages to the mobile number you provide.
Messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other automated technology where permitted by law.
Consent to receive SMS/text messages is not a condition of making a contribution, purchasing any goods or services, volunteering, or otherwise supporting the Campaign.
Opt-Out
You may unsubscribe at any time by replying:

After requesting to opt out, you may receive one final confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
After your opt-out request has been processed, you will not receive additional SMS/text messages from the Campaign unless you subsequently opt back in.

Donations
Campaign contributions may be solicited through SMS/text messages.
Contributions made through Campaign links may be processed using Anedot or another authorized Campaign fundraising service.
Contributions are subject to applicable Maryland campaign finance laws and regulations.
Political contributions are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Consent to receive text messages is not required in order to make a contribution.
Privacy
Citizens for John O’Connor respects the privacy of individuals who participate in its SMS messaging program.
Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, and SMS consent data will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Information may be provided to service providers that assist Citizens for John O’Connor in operating its SMS program, but only as necessary for those providers to perform services on behalf of the Campaign.

Eligibility

If your mobile number changes or is reassigned to another person, you should unsubscribe from Campaign messages or notify the Campaign.

Citizens for John O’Connor may modify these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Any revised terms will be posted on this page along with an updated revision date.
Continued participation in the SMS program following an update is subject to the revised terms.
