- Volunteer with the Campaign

Information collected may include your name, email address, mobile phone number, mailing address, contribution information, and other information that you choose to provide.

Email Newsletter and Mailchimp
When you submit your email address through the Campaign newsletter form, you consent to receive Campaign-related communications, including news, community and event information, volunteer opportunities, election information, and fundraising appeals.
The newsletter form currently asks only for your email address. The Campaign uses Mailchimp, an Intuit email marketing service, to manage subscriptions, deliver messages, maintain consent and unsubscribe records, and measure email delivery and engagement. Your email address and related subscription or email-engagement information are processed through Mailchimp on the Campaign’s behalf.
The Campaign does not sell newsletter email addresses or share them with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be disclosed to service providers acting on the Campaign’s behalf or when disclosure is required by law.
You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in each Campaign email or by contacting Info@jeoconnor.com. An unsubscribed email address may remain on a suppression list so that the Campaign and its service providers can honor your request.
SMS/Text Message Communications
If you affirmatively provide your mobile phone number and opt in to receive text messages, you consent to receive recurring SMS or text messages from Citizens for John O’Connor.
Messages may include Campaign updates, election information, event notices, volunteer opportunities, fundraising appeals, and other Campaign-related communications.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making a contribution or otherwise supporting the Campaign.
After submitting a STOP request, you may receive a confirmation message. You will not receive additional Campaign text messages unless you subsequently opt back in.
Your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in information, and SMS consent data will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may provide information to service providers that assist us in operating our messaging program, but only to the extent necessary for those providers to perform services on behalf of the Campaign.

Donation Data
Campaign contributions made through JEOConnor.com are processed through Anedot, a third-party payment and fundraising platform.
When you make a contribution, information necessary to process the transaction may be collected directly by Anedot. The Campaign may receive information associated with your contribution, including information required for campaign finance compliance and reporting.
Certain contributor information may be required to be reported to the Maryland State Board of Elections or otherwise disclosed as required by applicable law.
Payment card or other sensitive payment information submitted through the contribution platform is processed by the applicable payment provider and is subject to that provider’s privacy and security practices.
Third-Party Services and Information Sharing
The Campaign uses service providers and may disclose limited categories of personal information as reasonably necessary for them to provide services on the Campaign’s behalf:
- Mailchimp: email addresses and subscription, delivery, and engagement information for newsletter management and email delivery.
- Anedot and payment providers: contribution, contact, transaction, and payment-related information for contribution processing and campaign finance compliance.
- Website hosting, security, and analytics providers: IP address, browser, device, referral, cookie, and website-usage information needed to operate, secure, and understand use of JEOConnor.com.
- SMS, communications, and campaign technology providers: contact details, consent records, message activity, and other information necessary to provide requested communications and campaign services.
- Government authorities and professional advisers: contributor or other information when disclosure is required for campaign finance reporting, legal compliance, accounting, audits, security, or the protection of legal rights.
Service providers may process information only in connection with the services they provide to the Campaign. Third-party websites and services are also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Cookies and Website Analytics
JEOConnor.com may use cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies to understand how visitors use the website, improve site functionality, measure Campaign communications, and maintain website security.

Unsubscribed email addresses and opted-out mobile numbers may be retained on suppression lists to prevent future messages. Some contribution, compliance, accounting, and public-record information may be retained or disclosed for periods required by law even after a deletion request.
Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Subject to applicable law and appropriate identity verification, you may ask the Campaign to:
- Confirm whether the Campaign is processing personal information about you and request access to that information
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information where retention is not required or permitted by law
- Obtain a portable copy of information you provided, where applicable
- Unsubscribe from Campaign emails or revoke email consent
- Opt out of Campaign text messages
- Opt out of any sale of personal information or targeted advertising if the Campaign ever engages in processing covered by those rights

You do not need to create an account. The Campaign may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and the request.
If the Campaign declines a request, you may appeal by emailing the same address with the subject line “Privacy Appeal” and explaining why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. The Campaign will respond within the time required by applicable law.
The Campaign will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Certain records may be retained when required by campaign finance, election, accounting, compliance, security, or other applicable laws.
